Ethiopian Cracked Wheat
Make Kinche Fast with this Simple Recipe
Measurements and Ingredients
-a cup of cracked wheat
-3 cups of water (or a mixture of milk and water)
-about 2 table spoon of Kibe (clarified spicy butter) or Oil of your choice
Bring the water and milk mixture to boil in a medium high heat.
Add the cracked wheat, cover the pot and let it cook.
Try not to stir it till it is cooked, that way it will not burn the bottom of the pot, as well as the Kinche.
It will take about 20 to 25 minutes for all the water to get absorbed.
Once it is fully cooked, turn off the heat, add the butter and salt to taste while it is still hot and mix them well.
Serve your Kinche with small plates or bowls.
